Primary Counselor

I have worked in the human services/helping profession for over 20 years and have worked with children, families, and individual adults.  I consider it a privilege to be a part of a person’s journey towards making positive, healthy and sustained changes in their life.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Elon University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the Catholic University of America.  I believe that Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Narrative therapy, and psychoeducation are great approaches to use in addressing many of life’s concerns and struggles.  Every person has their strengths, talents and gifts and to best serve a client, I believe that those positives should be tapped into so that a client is fully invested in their treatment and recovery.  My approach is direct and client-centered.  Therefore, I believe that the best outcome in therapy is a result of the therapist and client working together using strategies and interventions that are realistic and meaningful to the individual. Recovery from alcohol and drug addiction is a lifelong journey and I am honored to be able to be a part of that process for our clients.  I bring a personal understanding of the issues surrounding addiction due to addiction within my own family system.  Lifeline offers a supportive, nurturing environment and is committed to providing the best care for individuals seeking a life free of alcohol and drug addiction so that they can achieve their best life possible.
